The Preparation Day

It seems I am destined to go through every diagnostic procedure known to mankind. I have been asked to do colonscopy and gastroscopy as soon as possible given the recurrent epi gastric pain. Further details here. Long explanation short, you had to get this prepkit to clear your bowels.

To make things more challenging, I love challenges *cough cough*
  • I have to start the medication from 12pm - afternoon all the way to tomorrow morning.
  • I can have breakfast up to 11am but I woke up at 11am. So no breakie and straight on to fasting.

I waited 4 hours not even a pee. Then I start to worry, have I been eating the wrong medication? But if you think about it, I was not eating anything since last night dinner. No input where got output yea? A lot of people said colonscopy is painful. I always thought the pain was because of the the butt poke but now I wonder is it because the gnawing hunger. I was so HUNGRY by 2pm I was ready to eat the worms in the worm farm but um..uncle will kill me. So I did the next best thing, I googled for help.

Google said you can have clear liquids, clear broth, carbonated drinks, flavored gelatin, honey. First thing I opened a can of coke. But coke is acidic which makes it worse actually. Then I start rummaging the fridge and pantry and this is what I found
  • Chicken stock powder
  • 1 white radish
  • Red dates
  • 1 apple
  • Churro's carrots
  • 5 onions
Hunger can put a lot of things into perspective. Forgive me Churro but they are the ingredients for the best clear broth in the world. I made enough to sustain me until wee morning. The real diarrhea start around 6pm all the way into 3am winter morning. I was so ready to do colonscopy by 5am but my appointment was 12pm.

Moral of the story
Never never NEVER do afternoon colonscopy during winter unless you want to spend time in a cold toilet with the fan blowing your naked butt - unless you have a heated toilet seat.
